Hey friends!! Grace & peace be with you! My name is Megan, and I am the President of GW Catholics! I came to GW from lovely Lexington, South Carolina, where I spent my days in the kitchen of my family’s pizzeria.
Here at GW, I am a sophomore majoring in Philosophy and minoring in Music. My hope after I graduate is to get my masters in Theology, and someday become a college campus minister. But who knows! We'll see where the Lord takes me ;). Even writing those words is a little crazy to me, because that was not at ALL the plan when I decided to go to school at GW! When I was deciding where to go to college, I knew I wanted to study in DC, because I was (and still am) a huge nerd for American history and government. I wanted to study in what I thought was the coolest city ever, get a Political Science degree, and go to law school. But the Lord had other plans for me! And, of course, His is so much more exciting and beautiful than I could ever imagine. I thought I had to come to DC for the politics. But now I know the Lord pushed me to come to this city, to come to GW, so that I could discover GW Catholics.
When I found the Newman Center, I discovered the sanctuary I didn’t even know I was missing. I was welcomed into a genuine community radiating pure joy, and I fell in love with the Lord in a way I never conceived to be possible. My heart is bursting with joy and gratitude for the immeasurable ways I’ve been blessed through GW Catholics, and I cannot wait to share that joy with you!
Know that YOU are invited!! You’re invited to come along and see what radical, beautiful things the Lord has in store for you and your heart. Stop by our little blue townhouse and encounter the abundant love that can only be found in Christ. I so look forward to walking with you on this incredible and wondrous journey.
