Hi, I’m Kenny Kovalski! I’m a law student here at GW, and I am from Katy, Texas.
I grew up without much faith in my life. My Mom is Catholic, my Dad is not. I went to church with my Mom on Sundays, and to Catechism on Wednesday nights, but Jesus was not present in my home. I called myself Catholic, but I had no idea what being a Catholic really meant. As I prepared to go to college, I felt a strong conviction to finally make Jesus a central part of my life.
I attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas for my undergraduate degree, and the Catholic Ministry there changed the course of my life. I felt God’s love in the most welcoming and genuine community I have ever known. I was discipled by an array of role models, including campus ministers, FOCUS missionaries, and older students. They showed me what my life could be if I lived the way Jesus calls us to. My time at SMU Catholic built me into a better, kinder, and more faithful son of God.
I hope to do for the students of GW what SMU Catholic did for me. If you need help with your faith, if you’re struggling in your life, or just need someone to listen, I invite you to reach out to me. Trust me, I have been there, I want to help you.
I am involved in Knights of Columbus, serving at mass, and working to get more grad students at our events. During the rare moments when I’m not studying for my classes or spending time at GW Catholic, you can find me practicing singing, playing guitar, listening to audiobooks, or working on my fledgling fantasy novel.
