I am Antonio, the proud Grand Knight for the foreseeable future. I was born in North Carolina but raised in Nashville, Tennessee. The City-Slickin' life of DC was all but an accident, alas, it was all part of God's plan.
I'm a rising sophomore studying Aerospace Engineering. Sometimes the work requires equal amounts of prayer as it does study, however, it's been a fun ride so far. My first encounter with the Newman Center was about a month into my Freshman year. From the corner of my eye I saw a poster with Jesus on it and better yet it was in Spanish. I was so happy to find something I had grown up with all my life in a place so far away from home. I went to mass that Sunday and the people I met that night are now some of my best friends.
As I mentioned previously I have always had a relationship with God, but it wasn't until recently that it's grown into a true and devout connection. Ever since my first visit to Newman I've experienced a side of the church I've never really seen before, the community. Having a strong connection with God and his children has made my life in DC so much more rewarding and meaningful. I look forward to giving back even just a little bit of the positivity and inspiration that Newman has given me.
